Bring The Asian Monologues to your city

The show is built to travel. Every city is cast locally, so what arrives is a form and a production team — the stories come from your community.

What a production needs

  • A room built for listening. The Bainbridge production ran in a museum auditorium. It does not need a full theatre, but it does need an audience that can hear a single unamplified voice, or a simple sound setup.
  • A local casting window. Performers are drawn from the host city, so there needs to be lead time to find them and work with them.
  • A piano or music provision, if the evening includes musical guests as the first production did.
  • Roughly two hours, with an intermission.

What travels

The format, the direction, the production process, and the brand. The Asian Monologues™ is a trademark, and productions carry the name under agreement — see the trademark notice.

Who to talk to

Booking, licensing, and co-presentation all start with the festival team at hello@aahfestival.org. Tell us the city, the kind of venue, and roughly when you are thinking, and we will tell you honestly whether it is feasible.

If you are not a venue

Audiences and artists move this along too. Adding your name as a performer in a city makes that city more likely, and sponsorship covers what a host cannot.
